Actually, it’s a trick question because nearly everyone believes they’re orderly. Seems like a no-brainer, right? Every assistant needs that skill. They get creative and excited telling you what they can do.”Īs part of the interview process, Jack always asks the candidate if they are organized. They already start taking over your life in the interview. “When I’m interviewing, I’m really looking for passion around the position,” Jack says. Do the person’s eyes light up when they’re talking about the possible job? It’s a quality you need to wait for as well. One of the key tests Dave and his leaders use for hiring is so simple, most people don’t even think about it. “The magic answer for me is: ‘I might want to be a higher-level assistant or have more responsibilities.’” “If they say sales or something like that, I know they don’t want to be an assistant,” he says.
